We’re receiving high volumes of council tax inquiries at this time after issuing 130,000 bills recently.
To ensure we’re dealing with these inquiries in the fastest possible way, we’re asking everyone to contact us online through our Council Tax webpages.
If you don’t have access or can’t use our online services, you can leave a message on our phone line 01273 291 291 and request a call back from one of our team.
Please note however, we will not be physically answering this phone line from now until Monday 10 May.
Instead, callers will hear a message on how to:
- Receive a call back - press 2 to leave a voicemail message with your full name, council tax account number or property address, and a brief explanation of your query. A member of the team will contact you as soon as we can
- Pay by card - press 1 to be transferred to our 24-hour automated payment line
- Manage your council tax account – by visiting www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/myaccount
- Find more council tax information – by visiting www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/counciltax
Excellent customer service is very important to us, and the measures we’re putting in place will help us deal with inquiries in the most efficient way possible.
We will also be maintaining ways of escalating urgent queries that require a speedy response.
Thank you for your patience during this very busy time.
