Temporary traffic signals at St Peter’s junction
From Monday 13 January, temporary traffic signals will be used to control traffic flow at the St Peter’s junction on the eastern side of Lewes Road as part of the ongoing Valley Gardens development.
The temporary signals are being used to enable workers to switch from the old traffic light system to a new system.
The work has been scheduled to take place during a quieter period.
We are using advanced temporary signals which have greater functionality and reliability than standard temporary signals as they can be operated from our Traffic Control Centre to respond to traffic flow but motorists may still experience longer journey times during this element of work.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works to improve the transport network and public realm in the centre of Brighton.
