Stanmer Park main entrance closed on 22 and 30 June

The main entrance at Stanmer Park’s Lower Lodges car park will be closed to traffic on 22 and 30 June while essential work is carried out.

New roadway

The work, by Buxton Building Contractors, involves excavation works and installation of a new roadway to incorporate better pedestrian access.

Visitors arriving at the park by car will need to use the temporary access which has already been created further along Stony Mere Way and is clearly signposted.

Safe access

Staff from Buxtons will also be on hand directing traffic while the work is underway, to ensure safe access to the popular park.

We would ask that visitors avoid coming to Stanmer Park by car on these two days, or to park in the Upper Lodges car parks if they can, to reduce traffic flows.

Walkers are welcome

A pedestrian ramp is already in place for those arriving via the footpath in Stoney Mere Way into the closed east Lower Lodges car park.

The work is part of the Stanmer Restoration Project
