People accessing Stanmer Park with vehicles face major disruption from next week, as the park enters the final construction stages of the Restoration Project.
From Monday 2 to Monday 16 November 2020, essential scheduled road resurfacing will be taking place in several key locations at the park.
Limited access
The Lower Lodges entrance will be closed for several days to traffic, and road access through and around the T-junction by the church and in the area by Stanmer House, will also be disrupted by closures or diversions.
There will be limited vehicle access to designated public car parks at Stanmer Park during these two weeks.
Signage is being installed advising visitors to use alternative ways to access the park or, if driving, to seek authorised car parking outside the park while the work takes place.
Construction scheduling may mean changes are made without warning to the exact timing and duration of road closures, diversions and access at the park.
Bus service affected
Special arrangements are being made for Stanmer residents, park businesses and deliveries, and others needing essential access. The park’s weekend bus service is also likely to be affected.
We advise everyone, including those visiting by bike or on foot, to take particular care in the Stanmer Park area during the work, observing road closures, diversions and other signage, and staying clear of roadworks areas.
