It's a job that could change your life!

Are you looking for a life-changing job you can do in your own home?

Brighton & Hove City Council’s ‘Shared Lives’ scheme is recruiting carers.

Shared Lives is a way to support adults with learning disabilities who are unable to live independently. The scheme places adults with carers who offer accommodation, care and support in their own home.

The Shared Lives team is working through the Coronavirus restrictions to support their current carers and recruit new ones.

All kinds of people can be Shared Lives carers: couples or singles, with or without children, home owners or tenants.

You need to have a spare room and live in Brighton and Hove. Full training and support are provided. You are paid based on the needs of each person you support.

Some carers do it on a full-time, others on a short-breaks or sessional basis. It is similar to fostering.

The team is proud of the work carers have been doing during this difficult time. People have been supported to enjoy gardening, baking, being creative and exercising along with everyone else.
