Local elections are taking place in Brighton & Hove on Thursday 2 May 2019.
If you know that you will be unable to get to your polling station on 2 May, you need to apply for a postal or proxy vote in advance.
Apply for a postal vote by 15 April
To apply to vote by post in these local elections, you need to print and sign a form then return it to our Elections team by Monday 15 April.
If you applied for a postal vote before 31 March your postal voting pack should arrive in the next few days. Anyone who applies up until the local election application deadline of 15 April will get theirs next week.
How to complete your postal vote
Completing your postal vote is quick and easy. Follow the instructions included, making sure to check the number of candidates you need to vote for in your ward.
Have a look at the video to see how to complete it.
Make sure you return your postal vote so that it gets back to us by 2 May. Completed and sealed postal votes can also be handed in to staff at polling stations on the day.
Apply for a proxy vote by 24 April
If you aren't able to cast your vote in person or by post, you can apply for a proxy vote to have someone you trust cast your vote for you. You will need to complete a form and return it to our Elections team by Wednesday 24 April.
