Update following Brighton Pride 2019

Update 00.45am Sunday 4 August

The beach is full. People are being asked to stay away from the seafront. The tide is still coming in at this time.

Agencies are working together to manage the crowds and encourage people away from the beach. The situation will continue to be monitored overnight.

Information issued at 11.20pm Saturday 3 August

The seafront was very crowded at around 10pm. High tides also limited space on the beach.

HM Coastguard advised people to stay away from the seafront.

At the same time, PVP (Pride’s Park Village Party) reached capacity and no more people were allowed in.

Pride, the council and partner agencies shared the advice to stay away from the seafront and not to go to PVP.

We’re working with the ambulance service (SECAmb) and HM Coastguard to find a way to reduce the numbers of people on the beach for the safety of all.
