New roles in the Labour administration for autumn
The leader of the council, Councillor Nancy Platts, has announced the Labour administration’s agreed new roles for autumn.
Councillor John Allcock will move from chairing Housing Committee to chairing Children, Young People and Skills Committee. He will also become Deputy Leader of the Labour Group and Deputy Leader of the Council. The role of Deputy Leader of the Labour Group takes immediate effect and the role of Deputy Leader of the Council is formally approved at Full Council.
Councillor Gill Williams will move from deputy chair of Planning Committee to chair of Housing Committee.
Earlier in the year, Councillor Nick Childs announced his intention to stand down as chair Children, Young People and Skills Committee after the summer. Councillor Childs will take up the role of Deputy Chair of Planning. The chair roles will be approved at the next Housing and Children, Young People and Skills committees.
