Floral clock gets festive

Palmeira Square takes on a festive new look at the end of this week with a Christmas tree, complete with twinkling lights.

On Friday (29 November) members of Brunswick Town in Bloom are inviting residents to join them for the lighting of the giant 30ft Norway Spruce Christmas tree.

Christmas carols

The event starts at 4pm with the Brunswick Primary School Choir singing Christmas carols in St John the Baptist Church in Palmeira Square.

At 4.45pm the group moves to the Floral Clock at Palmeira Square, where Father Christmas will switch on the Christmas tree lights accompanied by former Mayor Councillor Pete West, while members of the Rotary Club Choir will sing carols.

The annual Palmeira Square Christmas tree is installed by Brighton & Hove City Council’s Cityparks team.
