A display of rare books and other exhibits from the Jubilee Library’s special collections has been extended until 7 April 2019.
‘Angels: The Devotional & The Decorative’ showcases examples of illustrations of angels in literature over the centuries and features items not normally on public show.
The display includes epic poems, religious manuscripts, ancient myths and Art Nouveau designs. There’s also a nod to Cupid, who features in ancient texts and Victorian romantic poetry.
The display is on show in the Tony Miller Reading Room at the Jubilee Library in Jubilee Street and is usually open during library opening hours. Occasionally the room is used for other events, so please call 01273 296984 if you're making a special trip.
