A graduation ceremony on Thursday 7 March at Brighton’s Amex Stadium will honour people of all ages in the city who have completed apprenticeships over the last year.
The event, marking National Apprenticeship Week, runs from 6.30pm to 9pm and includes a welcome drink on arrival.
It’s open to anyone completing an apprenticeship or traineeship between 1 January 2018 to 28 February 2019 – as well as their families and friends.
Tickets are free. Book tickets now. The deadline for booking is Sunday 3 March.
Leading the entertainment will be students from Brighton’s British and Irish Institute of Modern Music. Hosted by TV presenter Guy Lloyd, the event will also feature motivational speakers.
Brighton & Hove City Council is one of a number of local employers sponsoring the event. The chair of the council’s children, young people and skills committee, Councillor Les Hamilton, said:
“We’re proud to be playing our part in celebrating the achievements of apprentices across the city.
“I also hope this special event at the Amex will help make more people aware that apprenticeships are open to all age groups.
A new apprenticeship campaign ‘Fire it up’ and ‘Blaze your own career trail’ was launched in January. If you are an individual or employer interested in finding out more about apprenticeships, please visit the Apprenticeships website.
