Check who is registered to vote at your address
Look out for a form checking who is registered to vote at your address.
A Household Enquiry Form is being delivered to every home in the city this week. It asks you to confirm the details we have about you, or tell us about changes we need to make. It should only take a minute or two of your time to respond.
Update or confirm the details for your household
The quickest, easiest and most cost effective way to respond is online.
- Go to www.householdresponse.com/bhcc
- Enter your postcode
- Give the security codes that are printed on the form
Why do I need to tell you who is registered to vote?
Every year, we send a household enquiry form to every residential address in Brighton & Hove. Your information will be used to put together the electoral register. This is the only complete list of people of voting age and is the basis for UK democracy. It is used to call people for jury service, for credit referencing and proof of a person’s identity.
We are legally required to ensure the electoral register is as accurate as possible.
What happens if I don’t respond?
You can either post your form back or respond online. If we don’t get a response by 9 August then we will send out a further reminder or a canvasser may visit your property.
