Review of Hanover and Elm Grove Parking Schemes
Residents in Hanover and Elm Grove are invited to give their views on the Zone S and Zone V parking schemes. The schemes, which were introduced in October 2017 following public consultation, are being reviewed by the council to ensure a fair balance is being achieved between the needs of residents, businesses and visitors.
The review is an opportunity for residents in the schemes boundaries to have their say on any changes they feel are required to improve how the parking controls operate and specifically, whether the parking schemes are working in terms of the hours/days, if the type of bays provided are suitable and how the different types of permits are working.
If support is shown for potential changes to the parking schemes in the Hanover and Elm Grove area, the council will issue a further consultation with details of proposed changes for consideration.
Any other city-wide policies that are requested would need to be considered in the forthcoming permit parking review which starts in April 2019.
Chair of the Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee, Councillor Gill Mitchell, said: “When we introduced the Zone S and Zone V parking schemes in Hanover and Elm Grove in 2017, we committed to reviewing them to ensure that they were balancing the needs of residents, businesses and visitors.
“Through this review, we want residents in the scheme boundaries to give us their views on how the schemes have been working so that we can assess whether further changes need to be made.”
Residents who live within the Zone S and Zone V boundaries should receive a letter and hard copy questionnaire to complete and return. Residents can also complete the survey online at https://www.brighton-hove.gov.uk/hanover-and-elmgrove-review
