New planning register helping to improve customer service
Brighton & Hove’s online planning register has been updated to make it easier for residents, businesses and developers to comment on and view planning applications.
The new planning register is designed to make it easier for people to find out about planning applications near to their homes and business, get involved with planning decision-making and track the progress of their own planning applications.
Councillor Julie Cattell, chair of the city’s planning committee, said: “This is part of our ongoing programme of improvements to the planning service. The updated planning register is designed to be easier for residents and planning professionals to track progress of their own planning applications and find those they are interested in across the city.”
The new planning register has increased functionality to ‘personalise’ information. For example, you can set up alerts to let you know when comments are submitted or a decision has been taken. You can look up information about where planning applications are using a map of the area, and track changes for the ones you are interested in.
It is also easier to look for particular types of application such as’ change of use’ and view details of the agents submitting applications.
Brighton & Hove’s planning register is completely mobile-friendly, with information much easier to search and view from all mobile devices.
