Work begins on new residents parking schemes

New residents’ parking schemes in the Balfour Road and Preston Village areas of Brighton are on their way.

The work will start with line painting on Balfour Road on Monday, 17 July, followed by neighbouring roads during the week. The council is asking residents to move their vehicles so that crews can undertake the work.

Road lining for the Preston Village parking scheme will begin on Monday, 24 July with line painting on Station Road and Clermont Road followed by neighbouring roads.

Both schemes were agreed at the Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee at the end of June.

The new schemes are being introduced following consultation with residents who have been finding it difficult to park due to commuter parking. The new schemes will have parking bays for residents and their visitors, businesses and services. Both schemes will go live in October.
