Cityclean working flat out on Pride clear-up
Staff from Cityclean, the council’s refuse and recycling service, have been working flat out since Saturday afternoon on the Pride clear-up.
They have been doing a fantastic, job, working through the night and all day Sunday.
Pavements in St James' Street are being jet washed and steam cleaned today.
Brighton & Hove Pride is a massive and marvellous event. It makes a huge contribution to the economic and cultural life of the city.
All weekends during the summer holidays are busy in the city in terms of tourism, but Pride weekend is particularly so and this does put extra pressure on Cityclean.
A well-attended football match at the Amex this weekend also helped swell visitor numbers in the city centre before and afterwards.
We would like to reassure residents that we will continue to prioritise the Pride clear-up until it is completed.
