We've received reports from two businesses in the city of someone visiting them pretending to be collecting fees on behalf of the council's Licensing Team.
In both incidents a man asked for money for an annual "premises fee" and showed a receipt book. No ID was shown.
Our Licensing Team does not ask businesses to pay fees in cash and staff do not carry receipt books for cash.
We've asked both businesses to report the incidents to the police.
