Residents asked to be on guard over 'insurance' calls
Brighton & Hove City Council is warning people to be on their guard following reports from residents that they have received calls from someone claiming to be from the council and asking them if they have been involved in an accident. The person then goes on to talk about insurance claims.
If in doubt about the authenticity of calls from the council, residents can call the switchboard on (01273) 290000. Officers calling from Brighton & Hove City Council are able to identify themselves and can always provide a direct line number for the customer to ring back if they prefer.
