Surrenden and Fiveways residents' parking
Residents living in the Surrenden and Fiveways areas could soon benefit from a residents’ parking scheme.
Councillors on Brighton & Hove City Council's Environment, Transport and Sustainability Committee are being asked to give the go ahead for the consultation to begin in June this year.
If councillors agree, residents will be given the option of a five or seven day scheme, with enforcement from 9am to 8pm. The hours are in line with other nearby schemes.
The consultation would include a leaflet delivered to all homes, businesses and services in the area along with a staffed exhibition.
The proposals have been drawn up following the Citywide Parking Survey carried out last year.
Committee Chair councillor Pete West said: “Permit schemes have worked well to alleviate pressures in other parts of the city and could be the way forward here if there is sufficient support from the people that live in the area. I would urge residents to get involved in the consultation and have their say.”
