The sound of success - young musicians showcase talent
Since its launch in 2013, SoundCity: Brighton & Hove has swiftly become one of the most revered Music Education Hubs in the UK. This year’s celebration event has a record number of partners and schools taking part with more than 200 young musicians performing in the music education hub’s annual showcase. SoundCity 3 is at 7pm on Saturday 14 March 2015 at Brighton Dome Corn Exchange.
Performers include musicians nominated by local secondary schools as well as community organisations such as AudioActive, Carousel, Unified Rhythm, Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM and lead partner Brighton & Hove City Council’s Brighton & Hove Music & Arts Service.
SoundCity 3 will also launch a week of celebrating music from the youth of Brighton & Hove. More information can be foundwww.soundcitybh.org
Cllr Phélim Mac Cafferty, Chair of the Brighton & Hove Music Trust, said: “In only two years, Soundcity has become the key event in the year when our young people’s most innovative musical talents are profiled. Last year we had our city’s young musicians play euphonium, string arrangements, a batteria of bins and ripping-rock, and this year promises to be just as exciting. I am really looking forward to SoundCity3.”
