Geoff Raw confirmed as council chief executive

Geoff Raw was confirmed as chief executive of Brighton & Hove City Council at the Full Council meeting on 22 October.

Geoff was recommended for the appointment of chief executive with the unanimous endorsement of the cross party recruitment panel.

Warren Morgan, leader of Brighton & Hove City Council said: "I'm delighted that Geoff Raw has been appointed as chief executive, and will be leading the council into a period of enormous challenges, changes and opportunities.

“Geoff has been with the council for over five years across three different political leaderships, so he commands respect and goodwill across the chamber. He not only knows the city and the council inside out, but is someone with the experience, ideas and skills to tackle the extremely tough times we now must face together. One example of the kind of innovation he brings is the housing scheme I announced this week, which he has been instrumental in bringing together."

Geoff Raw, chief executive of Brighton & Hove City Council said: “It’s a real honour and privilege to take on this role, I promise to give it my all over the coming years. I don’t underestimate the challenges ahead for us all but I remain excited and ambitious about the enormous potential of the city and the important role of the council in offering civic leadership.”
