VisitBrighton thanks city’s tourism volunteers
Earlier this month, 2 December 2014, a group of local volunteers from the city’s tourism arm, VisitBrighton, met in the Mayor’s Parlour at Brighton Town Hall, for a celebratory event to mark the services they offer to the city’s visitors. Brighton & Hove Mayor, Brian Fitch, thanked the specially invited guests, who included City Champions and Greeters, for giving their time throughout the year to contribute to the city’s tourism offer and welcome.
The City Champions operate as on-street volunteers and are based at Brighton Station or the Royal Pavilion, most weekends, to welcome visitors. The volunteers are armed with city maps and mini Rough Guides to Brighton & Hove and can offer advice about where to stay and eat, plus give information about the latest attractions and events taking place in the city.
Greeters offer introductory walks and an insider’s view of the city to individual travellers. Greets are FREE and are bookable online.
