Tour of Britain - Young people to race on Madeira Drive
British Cycling has linked up with two of Brighton & Hove’s cycling clubs to offer a team competition for young people on Madeira Drive ahead of the stage finish on Saturday, 13th September.
Local Go-Ride clubs VC Jubilee and Preston Park YCC will take part in eight races for different age groups from midday. The hour-long slot will feature under eights and under 10s going head to head in a skills relay with mixed teams of five.
The under 12s, U14s & U16s will race in a series of Sprint Eliminators.
It will be a fantastic opportunity for youngsters to try out their cycling skills and ride on the finish of the Tour of Britain’s Sussex stage.
Go-Ride is British Cycling’s development programme for young people, providing an opportunity to experience the world of cycle sport. Over 60% of riders on the Great Britain Cycling Team started out at Go-Ride Clubs.
The Tour of Britain stage 7 which travels through West and East Sussex, is expected to reach Brighton’s Madeira Drive at around 3.30pm.
