Young rugby players from Middle Street Primary School and Hove Rugby Club are visiting Brighton Community Stadium on Tuesday May 6 to celebrate '500 days to go' until the Rugby World Cup 2015 begins.
The children will meet players from the city’s rugby clubs and help unveil the dates of the general ticket sales for the tournament as the community gears up for rugby’s biggest event in Brighton next year. Representatives from Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and the council will also be present.
The first weekend of Rugby World Cup matches, on September 19 and 20 2015, will see two games take place at the Brighton Community Stadium. The city will be one of the first venues to host matches in this nationwide sporting spectacular, which will be a focus of global attention.
The tournament will take place from September 18 to October 31 2015 in 13 different venues across 10 host cities in England and in Cardiff.
Brighton Community Stadium will host two matches. On 19 September 2015 South Africa (confirmed) will play Asia 1 (to be confirmed), and on 20 September 2015 Samoa (confirmed) will play USA (confirmed).
