Kemp Town says thank you to street cleaner Rob

Street cleaner Rob Teagle has been recognised for his work in keeping the streets of Kemp Town spick and span.

Rob, from the council's Cityclean service, was identified as an 'unsung hero' by a new local independent estate agency Paul Bott and Company for his dedication the job, which was described as 'truly inspirational and outstanding.'

Shelley Hollis, from Paul Bott and Company, said: “Kemp Town is full of unsung heroes and we felt that we'd like to give them a big thank you. Each month we will select a 'Kemp Town Community Member Of The Month' and we're delighted to say that Rob is our first recipient. We watch him from our office and he does a fantastic job in all weathers.”

Rob has worked for the council for more than nine years and Kemp Town has been his patch for the last three. He said: “I enjoy the route because I like Kemp Town and its vibe. I like making a difference and meeting local residents.”

The company will present Rob with a £50 prize at their offices Grand Opening this Saturday, 6 September and will blog about him on their website, Twitter and Facebook pages.

Councillor Lizzie Deane, deputy chair of the city's environment committee, said: “Street cleaning plays such an important part in making the city look good, so it is great that Rob has been recognised by the local community for the work he does in Kemp Town. Our street cleaners take great pride in their work and it’s good to see them appreciated.”
