Two fostering information events have been organised by Brighton & Hove City Council’s fostering team in May to mark national Fostering Fortnight.
The first is on Monday May 12 from 10am to 1pm at Sainsbury’s West Hove store off the Old Shoreham Road, BN3 7GD.
The second is being held on Saturday May 17 from 10am to 11.30am at the Amex Community Stadium, Village Way, Falmer BN1 9BL.
At both events you can find out more about fostering, ask questions and talk to members of the council’s fostering team as well as current foster carers.
The chair of the council’s children and young people committee, Councillor Sue Shanks, said: “This year we want to bust some of the myths around who can be a foster carer and who can’t.
“There’s no upper age limit to fostering. You can be single or a couple. We welcome interest in fostering from all sections of the community.
"What really matters to us is whether you have the time and energy to offer a safe, caring home to children who have had a difficult start in life."
Generous allowances are available for every child or young person you foster.
