With the European Parliamentary elections taking place on Thursday 22 May, Brighton & Hove City Council is urging voters to make sure they are registered to vote in time.
“People are talking about the elections, but you’ll only be able to have your say on who represents you in the European Parliament if you’re registered to vote by the deadline of Tuesday 6 May,” said Brighton & Hove City Council Electoral Registration Officer Penny Thompson.
“It only takes a few minutes either by phoning the council or printing off the online form.”
“Even if you think you’re already registered, it’s really important to double check. Many people think they are automatically registered because they pay council tax, but this isn’t true. If you’re unsure, you can call the council to check.”
