School bullying scrutiny meeting now September 4

The final meeting of a panel of Brighton & Hove councillors looking how best to tackle bullying in schools has been rearranged and will now take place on Wednesday 4 September at 4pm at Hove Town Hall.

The cross-party scrutiny panel is looking at the factors that contribute to bullying, with a view to identifying best practice in dealing with and preventing bullying issues and building on the support work that is already available.

A wide range of community and voluntary sector organisations representing or supporting children and young people involved in bullying and their families have already addressed the panel.

The panel comprises Councillors Ruth Buckley (Chair), Vanessa Brown and Penny Gilbey, joined by Youth Council and school parent governor co-optees plus nationally recognised expert advisor Professor Robin Banerjee of Sussex University.
