MyAccount temporarily unavailable
Some users may experience intermittent issues signing into our MyAccount service. This is due to high demand following the issuing of new Council Tax bills for the 2026/27 financial year. If you do experience any issues signing in, try again later. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Communal bin collections
Some communal waste collections are currently disrupted due to the need for essential repairs to specialist vehicles. Repairs are underway, and we expect to have them back on the road within the next week. Read our full update on communal bin collections.
Planning Register
There are currently some technical difficulties with the Planning Register. As an alternative, if you cannot access the register, send an email to planning.applications@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
This might be because you have entered your address manually (filling in each field yourself) rather than using the dropdown list, when you set up your MyAccount. If your address is in the dropdown you should use it – this allows the system to work out your zone.
For example, if you call your address ‘Basement Flat’, perhaps to help the postman, the address system might still call it ‘Flat 1’. You should select ‘Flat 1’ from the dropdown if it corresponds to your home.
If you did enter your address manually when you set up your MyAccount, you can update this by going to the Personal Details section of your MyAccount and selecting 'Tell us you're moving'. You'll then be able to choose your address from the dropdown list instead, which will allow the system to work out the correct parking zone for you.
We have moved to a new online system and therefore need to ensure that we have the correct documentation to ensure that the applicant meets the eligibility criteria for a permit.
This will help ensure that permits are only issued to eligible residents and avoids fraudulent applications.
By uploading the proofs it also ensures that we use a secure and safe method of receiving data and meets the data protection policies. The historic information that may have already been supplied will not be valid as may be out of date.
