Library services

Find out your local library’s opening times. 

Jubilee Library is open:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday - 10am to 7pm
  • Wednesday, Friday, Saturday - 10am to 5pm
  • Sunday - 11am to 5pm

Hove Library is open:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - 10am to 5pm
  • Wednesday - 10am to 7pm
  • Sunday - closed

Libraries Extra

Libraries Extra opening hours (for all libraries except Whitehawk Library):

  • Monday to Thursday - open until 7pm
  • Friday, Saturdays and Sundays - open until 5pm

Whitehawk Library Extra opening hours:

  • Monday to Thursday - open until 6pm
  • Saturday - open until 4pm

Unfortunately, we're not able to offer a 'Libraries Extra' service in the temporary Saltdean library cabin. The cabin library is open and staffed 9am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, and 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm on Saturdays. 

The closest alternative is Rottingdean Library.

Keep library users safe

We ask that library users continue to follow the COVID-19 safety measures to protect other library users and our staff.

Do not enter the library if you have any symptoms of COVID-19. If you do have any symptoms, you must self-isolate immediately and book a coronavirus test online or phone 119.

To help reduce the risk of infection, consider:

  • maintaining physical distancing of at least 1 metre
  • wearing a face covering over your nose and mouth when inside the building
  • cleaning library computers, study tables and chairs before and after you've used them with the wipes provided
