Public Toilet Refurbishment Programme
How we're refurbishing our public toilets and how this may affect you.
We know that the city’s public toilets need refurbishing. Over the next few years we are investing £3 million to refurbish public toilets across the city.
Phase 2
Phase 2 started in April 2024, which we're currently delivering. We will create new public toilets at The MacLaren Pavilion at The Level. We will refurbish the existing public toilets at Goldstone Villas and Ovingdean Undercliff.
Phase 1
As part of Phase 1, the following sites were refurbished:
- Daltons - Lower Prom East of Brighton Pier, near the zip wire
- Station Road - near Portslade train station
- Saltdean Undercliff
- Park Road, Rottingdean (funded by Rottingdean Parish Council)
Changing Places Toilets
We have installed 3 new Changing Places Toilets in the city using government funding.
These toilets are in Preston Park, St Ann’s Well Gardens and The One Garden at Stanmer Park.

Phase 3
Refurbishment works will start at The Colonnade in 2025 to 2026.
