Public Toilet Refurbishment Programme
How we're refurbishing our public toilets and how this may affect you.
We know that the city’s public toilets need refurbishing. Over the next few years we are investing £3 million to refurbish public toilets across the city.
Phase 2
Phase 2 will start in April / May 2024 with new public toilets being created at The MacLaren Pavilion at The Level. Existing public toilets at Goldstone Villas and Ovingdean Undercliff will also be refurbished.
Exact timescales are to be confirmed.
Phase 1
As part of Phase 1, the following sites were refurbished:
- Kings Esplanade - bottom of Grand Avenue, near Hove Lawns
- Daltons - Lower Prom East of Brighton Pier, near the zip wire
- Station Road - near Portslade train station
- Saltdean Undercliff
- Park Road, Rottingdean (funded by Rottingdean Parish Council)
Funding
The council has secured £330,000 from the government, that has been match funded with £95,500 from the council to increase the number of Changing Places Facilities in the city too.
