Hove Beach Park
Find out about Hove Beach Park, what service and facilities we're including and how we're keeping accessibility at the heart of our decisions.
About the development
Hove Beach Park is a new development on the seafront in West Hove. It is not open to the public yet. The park will stretch from Hove Lagoon to the King Alfred Leisure Centre.
We're developing the park through the Kingsway to the Sea project. Our aim is to regenerate underused and run-down facilities and green spaces on the seafront. Most of the project is funded by the government’s Levelling Up Fund.

Services and facilities
When finished the park will have:
- an outdoor sports hub with a café and terrace
- gardens
- wheeled sports areas, including a skate plaza, pump track and roller area
- tennis and padel courts
- a sand sports area
- croquet and bowls lawns
- improvements to the facilities at Hove Lagoon
We've designed the construction programme in phases and will open parts of the park soon. They'll be available for use starting this summer. We'll have an official opening in spring 2025 when we've completed the majority of the work.

Accessibility
We aim to make the park accessible for everyone. We also want to promote safety in the area.
We're adding a path through the park with ramps and handrails. This will make the path easier for everyone to use. The path will connect different park areas at each entrance, from the existing cross-routes, where possible.
New lighting along main access ways mean the public routes will be well-lit after dark.
We'll add new public toilets in the outdoor sports hub. They'll include accessible toilets and a new Changing Places facility. We're also refurbishing the toilets at Hove Lagoon. They will have accessible facilities and step-free access.
We'll put seating throughout the park which offer areas to rest and enjoy the surroundings. We'll install new signs to show directions and increase cycle parking to promote sustainable travel.
The project team have worked with different groups throughout the design stages. They'll continue to seek feedback with accessibility and inclusivity at the heart of the project.
