About this role
Call out for a local guest programmer with lived experience of seeking asylum or has a refugee background to plan and support up to 3 events in Brighton & Hove Libraries during Refugee Week 16 to 22 June 2025.
This opportunity is a freelance position to plan, co-ordinate and market 3 events to support libraries engagement with refugees, asylum seekers and the wider public and to celebrate our Refugee Week cultural offer.
The fee for this work is £1,800 (plus a budget for each event).
The successful applicant will be given support by the library service. To be eligible for this opportunity you will need to have permission to work in the UK and have self-employed status.
Organisations that support sanctuary seekers can apply for this position, provided they work collaboratively with their service users or members to apply. Their members should also take an active role in planning, programming, and marketing the events, with organisational support if needed. Additionally, at least one person with lived experience must be involved in the application process and be available for an interview if the organisation is shortlisted.
