LGBTQ+ Voices Poetry workshop with AFLO.

Brighton & Hove Libraries in partnership with New Writing South and Writing Our Legacy presents LGBTQ+ Voices Poetry workshop with AFLO.

The workshop is open to people of all backgrounds, aged 16 and older. It is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced writers.

Come and get inspired to write!

About AFLO.

AFLO. the poet is a spoken word artist, activist and academic based in Brighton. AFLO. uses poetry as a vehicle to address hard-hitting topics, particularly mental health, racism, and trauma.

Although she has been writing and performing for less than 2 years, her voice was described as one of the most prominent in Brighton in 2020 following her involvement with the Black Lives Matter protests.

AFLO. believes creativity is at the heart of the revolution and encourages her audiences to continue fighting the good fight.

The workshop will run on Sunday 21 February from 3pm to 4.30pm.

Tickets to the workshop are free, but you must register on Eventbrite for security reasons as the event is online using Zoom.

Join us for an evening of new writing from LGBTQ+ Writers of Colour including:

Authors featured are from the recent Writing Our Legacy publications; Hidden Sussex Anthology (2019) and Covert literary magazine Edition 1 (2020), produced in association with New Writing South.

MC’ed by the wonderful AFLO. the poet and followed by a DJ set to get you dancing in your living room. Join us for this celebration of new writing from new voices from across Sussex and bring a bit of cheer to those long dark February nights.
