'The Wave' is a light installation in the entrance tunnel to Brighton Marina that was co-commissioned by X-Leisure and Brighton & Hove Arts Commission. The installation consists of 50 blue and green florescent tubes of different shades and brightness. Its shape is a unique diagram of the shifting sound created when passing through the tunnel. Adrian Stewart of 'DO-Architecture' designed the piece as the entrance feature, creating an exciting visual for visitors arriving at Brighton Marina.
DO-Architecture have created other public artworks in the city including the redecoration and illumination of Hove Station Footbridge and lighting installations at Brighton Station underpass and in the brick arches on Preston Road and Beaconsfield Road.
