Apprenticeship salaries
Apprenticeship salaries vary depending on who you work for, but you'll be paid at least the minimum wage rate. Many companies pay a lot higher than this, including us.

What you can earn as an apprentice at the council
The minimum you'll be paid during the first year of an Intermediate Level 2 apprenticeship is £10.00 an hour, or £19,292.86 a year. From April 2026, this will rise to £20,932.75 per annum.
The minimum you'll be paid during the first year of an Advanced or Higher Level apprenticeship (Level 3 and above) is £12.21 an hour, or £23,556.58 a year. From April 2026, this will rise to £24,521.22 per annum.
Once you've completed the first year, the minimum you'll be paid is the national minimum wage for your age. This will not be any less than your starting salary.
