Paid weeks per year: 52
Start date: 1st September 2023
Contract: Fixed Term, Part-time (Job Share 0.2FTE)
Creativity, nurture and excellence are at the heart of everything we do at Peter Gladwin Primary School. Through growth mindset, our children are encouraged ‘to be the best they can be’. The children are praised for challenging themselves and taking risks in their learning. In our most recent Ofsted we were judged to be a good school, the inspector noting that ‘the school’s motto, Dream, Believe, Achieve, is at the heart of all you do. Your belief is that every child can achieve’. Our positive partnership of child, parent/carer and teacher is central to our children’s success at Peter Gladwin and beyond.
About the role
Peter Gladwin is a popular and over-subscribed community school, situated in the heart of Portslade old village, close to the South Downs. We are fortunate to have beautiful natural grounds; this space lends itself to the provision of many and varied outdoor opportunities for our children. We are a trauma-informed and attachment-aware school, with our children’s safety and wellbeing at the heart of all we do.
As part of our continued growth, we are keen to appoint a highly-motivated and inspiring key stage 2 teacher with a passion for continuing to develop our creative curriculum, fostering confidence, aspiration and a love of learning in all our pupils, and preparing them for the future. In our UNCRC Rights Respecting School, the successful candidate will work alongside our senior leaders in continuing to drive our school vision initiatives. We are a member of the Sussex Coast Schools Alliance, Sussex Maths Hub and Portslade Cluster, where there are many opportunities to work with colleagues and access training opportunities to further one’s career.
If you are looking to join our friendly and dedicated team in a one-form entry school, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for someone with the vision and commitment to improve performance and support for our pupils and their families. As an excellent communicator, you will act as an ambassador for Peter Gladwin Primary School and will be working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders. If you are a highly-motivated and forward-thinking individual, this could be an excellent opportunity for you to join our school.
This position is temporary for one academic year however this may be reviewed after the first year.
