Job introduction

Paid weeks per year: 44.85 (inclusive of holiday entitlement)

Hours: 2.40 - 6pm, Mon-Fri (days flexible)

Start date: 4th September 2023

We wish to appoint an After School Club Assistant – job shares welcome.  The successful candidate(s) will be enthusiastic, highly motivated and demonstrate a passion for working with children. You will be working under the guidance of our Club Manager.                                     

Downs Junior is a large 4 form entry school situated in the popular Fiveways area of Brighton. We are a happy and successful school committed to delivering a creative and inspirational curriculum whilst, at the same time, raising standards of achievement.

About the role

We are looking for an individual who:

  • has energy, enthusiasm and enjoys working with children
  • works well as part of a team
  • demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills
  • willingness to learn
  • has a calm manner and a good sense of humour
  • can work with children on a 1 to 1 basis, if required (we are an inclusive club)
  • ideally has play work experience.
