About the role

The British Library Business & IP Centre (BIPC) National Network provides entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises across the UK with free access to databases, market research, IP (intellectual property) information, networking and business events. The Business & IP Centre (BIPC) Brighton & Hove is the regional centre of BIPC Sussex, with BIPC Locals in Eastbourne, Hastings and Crawley Libraries.

We are recruiting a Business & IP Centre Support Officer to work alongside BIPC Information Specialists and the BIPC Managers to deliver business information services to anyone thinking about self-employment, setting up, or growing a business.

In this role you will be

  • welcoming and explaining the BIPC Sussex service offer to customers
  • helping customers access business information
  • providing event management support
  • completing administrative tasks such as room bookings, events listings and posters and stats collation
  • creating and scheduling content for BIPC Sussex social media channels

This role will really enable you to transform people’s lives and to help future-proof their business. You’ll need superb communications and networking skills and confidence working with wide range of different people.

The post may require occasional early morning and evening working. It is based at Jubilee Library but may occasionally involve working in different locations across the City and region.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: This role does not meet the requirement for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Successful candidates will need to evidence that they have the Right to Work in the UK.
