Downs View is an Outstanding SEN school & college for pupils aged 4 to 19 years.

We are a highly innovative, committed, outward looking and enthusiastic organisation in all aspects of our work but especially: highest quality education and care, inclusive practice, staff development and parental engagement.

School age roll:  155 pupils at Downs View Woodingdean and have needs related to SLD/PMLD/ASC and complex needs.

Our 16-19 College provision is at our Link College site (Surrenden Road). The focus at our college site is on developing basic skills alongside life skills to prepare our learners for employability and independent living in different forms.

About the role

We are very interested to hear from qualified teachers with SEN experience for full time vacancies at both Downs View School and Downs View Link College.

Please note that teachers are employed by the organisation so can be based at any sites based on experience.  

We are absolutely committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment.  The role is subject to a successful enhanced DBS check. 

Visits are welcomed at all of our sites and we have the following open days:

Downs View School Woodingdean (Warren Road, Woodingdean, BN2 6BB)

21st March between 1pm and 4pm

27th March between 10am and 12pm

31st March between 9am and 11am

Downs View Link College (Surrenden Road, Brighton, BN1 6WQ)

23rd March between 11am and 12pm

Teachers may be required to carry out the duties set out in Schedule 3 of The Education (School Teacher’s Pay and Conditions of Employment) order 1993.
