We are looking to recruit a Programme Manager to manage the Greater Brighton One Public Estate partnership, establishing and maintaining relationships with key local, regional, and national public sector partners with the aim of working collaboratively to make better use of the collective public sector estate to:

  • Create economic growth, through the delivery of new homes and jobs.
  • Deliver more integrated and customer-focused services, with property as an enabler.
  • Generate efficiencies, through capital receipts and reduced running costs.

The Greater Brighton region encompasses the city of Brighton & Hove and the districts and boroughs of Lewes, Adur, Worthing and Mid Sussex. I t is home to 695,800 people and over 34,000 businesses.

The role will work with partners to deliver the programme’s project portfolio and identify and develop a pipeline of future collaboration opportunities.  It will also support the Greater Brighton Strategic Property Board and the Greater Brighton Public Sector Property Group, project manage property and/or development projects, report on progress of the OPE programme and develop future bids for funding.

The role offers a genuinely varied and interesting workload, working with colleagues, consultants and partners to support the delivery of property developments to benefit the local economy and community.

As the successful candidate you will have experience delivering large projects and programmes as well as partnership working, with the ability to think creatively and strategically to generate new ideas and practicable strategies.  You will also have strong administrative and organisational skills.

There's a lot to do, and we need someone who is passionate about making change happen, is comfortable working in a complex political environment and has a proven track record.  You will have project and programme management qualifications, for example PRINCE2 and Managing Successful Programmes accreditations and an enthusiasm for partnership working in fulfilling wider strategic aims. 

37 Hours per week with flexible working

Fixed term for: 2 years

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: We may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Please see Gov.uk for more information on the Skilled Worker Visa.

We offer the opportunity for the suitable candidate to choose to  work in a hybrid way. Your specific working arrangements will be subject to team and service working arrangements already in place alongside Government guidance.  Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
