Job introduction

Paid weeks per year: 47.15 inclusive of holiday entitlement

Fixed term: Linked to a child with an EHCP until August 2023

Start date: As soon as possible

We are looking for a nurturing, inspiring and resilient Individual Needs Assistants (INA) to support pupils with complex needs. Your relationship with these children will be critical in developing them, both as a learner and as confident, valued individual.

About the role

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher and Inclusion Manager to support learning and personal development and to further promote effective partnership with parents/carers.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience of working with children in a primary school setting
  • Have knowledge and understanding of Autism
  • Experience of Makaton signing and PECS communication OR a willingness to be trained in these areas
  • Be committed to inclusion
  • Demonstrate the ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
  • Have a commitment to working cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues
  • Have understanding of issues relating to child protection
