Job introduction

This role is based: Currently hybrid working - partly in Bartholomew House Bartholomew Square, Brighton, and some working from home.

We’re appointing a Senior HR Systems and Payroll Officer to work collaboratively with HR and Payroll to ensure an excellent customer experience that demonstrates how we value our staff. You will work within a technical team developing iTrent using agile methodology to enable the delivery of transactional processes through self service and HR/Payroll admin, and working together to maximise the use of automation and digital to improve the customer journey and deliver best value for money. You will report to the HR Technical Development Lead but you will help to realise the benefits of being part of a wider hub by sharing skills and knowledge across the wider team and building resilience.

About the role

As the Senior HR Systems and Payroll Officer you will work on:

  • developing the HR technical service delivering an ongoing programme of service development and improvement for our internal and external customers
  • providing technical expertise for iTrent and Business Objects  
  • and collaborate on the efficient delivery of the Payroll system

You will enjoy working at a advanced technical level in a busy environment and maintain high professional standards working under pressure.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Part office / part home – hybrid -  We offer the opportunity for the suitable candidate to choose to  work in a hybrid way. Your specific working arrangements will be subject to team and service working arrangements already in place alongside Government guidance.  Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
