This is a new and exciting role, in a newly formed and developing Transport Control Centre. You will be making a real difference to the transport network in the city by supporting a team of officers who are enforcing contraventions on the transport network, anticipating and identifying enforcement issues around the city making use of various enforcement systems including CCTV.

About the role

You will be 1 of 3 Team Leaders, reporting to the Transport Enforcement Manager. Working in the Transport Control Centre, which is a 24/7 multidisciplined service, and the communications hub for Brighton & Hove’s City Transport Service. Your role will directly line manage a team of officers working a shift pattern covering a 7 day week covering out of usual office hours. You will work closely with other teams within the Centre and will contribute to the accurate communication between the teams

The team will be responsible for enforcing a number of different restrictions to contribute to Council’s carbon neutral strategy. You will be supporting the manager in identifying areas of the city which would benefit from further traffic management or considering how new strategies will impact enforcement. Using your understanding of  compliance regulations and legislation you will be confident making independent decisions, have a good understanding of how enforcement impacts traffic flow in the city.

Using your knowledge and experience of compliance regulations and legislation you will be confident making independent decisions and have a calm and methodical approach to your work. You will support in delivering a first class, customer focused operation by delivering a fair and consistent approach to enforcement.

You will be committed to continuously improving your understanding existing and emerging legislation and how they apply to both parking and moving traffic enforcement including technologies used.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
