Varndean School requires an enthusiastic, committed and empathetic Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant would be expected to exhibit a variety of skills including in-class support, group work and 1:1 work with students with a range of special educational needs. 

 

About the role

Varndean School is an 11-16 school with around 1400 students, set in a picturesque south coast location in the vibrant and diverse city of Brighton and Hove. We are a Good (Ofsted 2017) and well-established school already, we have made rapid progress over the past couple of years and have no intention of resting on our laurels. The SEND department is forward looking and keen to support colleagues with professionalism around their areas of expertise in the field of SEND. The potential here is immense and the successful applicant will play a role in supporting our students to develop World Class Learning.

The SEND Department area is central to the School and has a vibrant team of experienced leaders and support staff. The successful applicant would be expected to provide an appropriate level of support across the school.
