We have an exciting digital leadership role available to join our Corporate Communications Service and help drive the organisation’s internal digital transformation.

Day-to-day, you will work as part of a virtual project team developing a new intranet on SharePoint online, collaborating with colleagues in the IT & Digital service, Performance, Improvement & Programmes Service, and HR service. You will also manage a small team of content designers and work with the external digital content team on contributing to the council’s content strategy and digital inclusion.

We are looking for talented digital content manager, who is experienced in people and project management, able to navigate a large organisation, understand various stakeholder needs, including accessibility requirements, and keen to make a positive contribution to our future ways of working.

Fixed Term:  1 year

This role is available as a secondment in line with our secondment policy.

About the role

As our Internal Digital Content Project Manager you’ll be working on a crucial corporate modernisation project to replace the council’s old intranet (built on 2007 SharePoint) with a new, modern, inclusive platform on SharePoint Online, engaging with a broad range of internal stakeholders including councillors, council staff and schools, to understand their diverse user needs, ranging from personal accessibility to a variety of devices.

Managing a small team of content designers, you will need to work at pace to review, redesign and publish content on a new intranet site, contributing to the creation of a new platform that’s inclusive of all stakeholders in our diverse organisation, improves and modernises how the council works.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape the council’s digital strategy and transformation and set in motion working towards a digital workplace that will be essential to the council’s future ways of working.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
