Job introduction

As HR Advisor – Policy and Projects, you will join a diverse and talented team responsible for ensuring that our customers have access to leading edge HR policies and guidance tools, and also for the successful delivery of HR projects.

This role is based within our existing Reward & Policy Team but with a remit that will mean working with colleagues, across the HROD function and beyond.

About the role

You will be assisting with the research, drafting, monitoring, and reviewing of HR policies and procedures, and maintaining up-to-date guidance on the Council’s intranet site.

You will use your general knowledge of employment legislation to provide basic advice to HR colleagues, staff and managers on employment policies and terms and conditions of service.

Working with members of the team and wider HR colleagues, you will also provide efficient, effective, and timely administrative and business support.

Through these activities you will gain exposure to a wide range of stakeholders across the council, and excellent knowledge of Council Services. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to further develop their career in HR.

Demonstrable experience or part qualification in the HR field will be necessary in order to undertake essential requirements of the role.   You will also need excellent ICT  and organiational skills, and experience of supporting and co-ordinating small to medium-sized projects involving working collaboratively with others

Work Location

There will be the opportunity for hybrid working as we pilot hybrid working arrangements across the council, with occasional attendance in the office according to team and service requirements, and in line with the current Government guidance.  This will be discussed with you separately during the recruitment process.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
