Job introduction

This is a new and exciting role, in a newly formed and developing Transport Control Centre. You will be making a real difference to the transport network in the city by  enforcing contraventions on the transport network and identifying enforcement issues around the city, making use of various enforcement systems including CCTV.

About the role

You will be working as part of a team, reporting to one of the Transport Enforcement Team Leaders. Working in the Transport Control Centre, which is a 24/7 multidisciplined service, and the communications hub for Brighton & Hove’s City Transport Service. Your role will work a shift pattern covering a 7-day week including working regular evening and weekend hours. You will work closely with other teams within the Centre and will contribute to the accurate communication between the teams

You will be responsible for enforcing a number of different restrictions to contribute to the Council’s carbon neutral strategy. You will be using ANPR and CCTV technology to identify and issue Penalty Charge Notices. You will use your understanding of  compliance regulations and legislation and be confident making independent decisions.

You will be able to concentrate for long periods of time and be able to record data accurately and methodically.  You will support in delivering a first class, customer focused operation by delivering a fair and consistent approach to enforcement.

You will be committed to continuously improving your understanding of existing and emerging legislation and how they apply to both parking and moving traffic enforcement including technologies used.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
