About the role

As an Estate Assistant you will be providing a cleaning service and initiate repairs in the common ways of council owned flats and on the estates in Brighton and Hove. You will build and maintain good communication and relations between BHCC, tenants’ associations, tenants and leaseholders as laid out in council policy and tenancy agreements. You should have the ability to prioritise tasks and to work to the standard specified in the cleaning schedule as agreed with residents in the buildings and outside areas.

We want you to feel supported and valued and offer fantastic benefits such as generous annual leave entitlement, opportunities to join staff forums, access to the Local Government Pension scheme and other staff benefits and discounts.

As part of your application, you will need to upload your CV and a supporting statement. Your supporting statement is the most important part of your application as it will be used in the shortlisting process to assess whether you meet the essential requirements for the role that are set out in the person specification and to decide whether you should be offered an interview. Before you start your application, please read our guidance here (CV guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk) and Supporting statement guidance (brighton-hove.gov.uk)) as this gives important advice which will increase your chance of success in the shortlisting process.
