Job introduction

The role of the Virtual School for Children in Care and Previously in Care has been extended to include all Children with a Social Worker.

This post involves working in partnership with schools and teams across Families, Children and Learning, to support, challenge, and champion the inclusion and education of Children with Social Workers, in order to raise the educational outcomes of this group of children and close the attainment gap.

This post is grant funded for one year in the first instance.

We are therefore looking to recruit an experienced teacher to take on this strategic role as a one year secondment.

About the role

We wish to recruit a teacher with a current permanent school contract, to come and join the Virtual School on a twelve month secondment, to promote the educational outcomes of children with a social worker, to take a strategic role in promoting the educational outcomes of children with a social worker and those who have previously had a social worker.

To work in partnership with schools and teams across Families, Children and Learning, to support, challenge and champion the inclusion and education of Children with Social Workers, in order to raise the educational outcomes of this group of children and close the attainment gap.

*Eligibility to Apply for Secondments

Permanent employees are eligible to apply for a secondment where they have:

held their current post for at least twelve months, obtained agreement from their line manager and have a defined development need that may be met through the secondment or there is a defined organisational need that will be met via the secondment.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is term-time only.
